Stongfjorden is a small village about 200 km north of Bergen. You will find Stongfjorden in a European Road Atlas or Google or on a GPS plotter. There are no street names in the village and no house numbers as the postman knows everyone and where they live!

Bergen to Stongfjorden by Express Boat.

Fjord1 operates a service twice a day to Askvoll. The journey takes about 2 1/2 hours and is fast, comfortable and reliable. We can arrange to meet you off the boat and drive you the last few miles to Stongfjorden. Check the web site for a timetable www.fjord1.no

Bergen to Stongfjorden by car.

From Bergen follow the E39 north bound all the way to Førde. Just before you enter the town there is a left hand turn off for the 609 to Askvoll. Stay on this for around 40 minutes until you arrive in Stongfjorden. The journey from Bergen involves one short ferry crossing over the Sognafjord, as long as you turn left to Førde. Ferries run frequently from Oppedal on the south side to Lavik.

 

Bergen Airport to Bergen Ferry Terminal There are busses to the city centre, taking about 35 minutes. Get off at the fisketorget, which is a 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal, leaving the harbour to your right. Taxi’s are expensive and not much quicker.
